Ingredients:
- 15 oz. can of black beans
- 1/2 onion
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- Red pepper flakes
- Cumin
- Cilantro/Parsley
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
Recipe:
- In a food processor, blend the onions and garlic
- Rinse and drain your black beans, then add that to the processor
- Add in a tsp. of cumin & red pepper flakes (adjust the spice to your liking)
- Add in a pinch of salt and pepper, along with 1 egg and blend
- After everything is blended, add the mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add in a cup of breadcrumbs and combine
- Form your patties (Recipe should make 4 large patties, or 6-8 slider sizes), and place them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. Freezing them will allow them to stay together better when they start cooking.
- After 20 minutes, heat a skillet with oil and sear the patties on high to medium heat. Try not to flip them too much, or they may break.
- Once you get a nice sear, place them in a 375F oven for about 5-10 minutes, making sure the insides are fully cooked
- Once the burgers are fully cooked, assemble your burgers and enjoy!
